School Shooting Teen Is Convicted
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) _ A contrite Luke Woodham was convicted Friday of shooting nine of his classmates last October, the second time in two weeks a jury rejected claims the teen-ager was insane.
The jury, which earlier Friday heard Woodham apologize to his victims and their families, convicted the 17-year-old of killing two students and wounding seven others at Pearl High School on Oct. 1. He two life sentences plus 20 years on each aggravated assault charge, all to run consecutively.
