Richardson, Broadhurst, Walton Fail
SAN ROQUE, Spain (AP) _ Former Ryder Cup players Steve Richardson, Paul Broadhurst and Philip Walton failed Monday to make it through the European PGA Tour qualifying school.
Richardson missed out by one stroke after bogeying the final hole, Beoadhurst missed by eight after taking a triple bogey on the same hole and Walton fell six short.
Johan Skold won the qualifying event, finishing the six-round competition at 17-under-par 415. Christophe Pottier was second at 15-under 417.
Thirty-six players made the cutoff of 427 and won membership on the 2002 European tour.
Richardson finished with a 1-over-par 73 that left him at 428, Walton had a closing 77 to finish at 433, and Broadhurst shot a 71 for 435.
