ITTA BENA, Miss. (AP) _ Marcus Mann and Eric Redmond each added 14 points to bring Mississippi Valley State to a 96-76 win over Prairie View A&M on Friday.

Despite Tammaron Sharpe's 21-point streak and the 16 points each contributed by William Evans and Derick Malone, Prairie View (4-18, 0-10 Southwestern Athletic Conference) put on a lukewarm effort, trailing from the first four minutes of the game and hitting 36 percent of its shots.

Mann and Redmond led a seven-man list of Delta Devils scoring in the double digits. Kenyon Ross had 13 points and six rebounds; Chris Smith added 12 with 10 rebounds, Dendrius Rucker had 11 and Derrick Smith and Frederick Haywood each scored 10.

Mississippi Valley (17-5, 8-2 SWAC) hit 50 percent of its shots _ 65 percent in the second half.
