Kentucky woman pleads guilty to sex trafficking 2 women
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A Kentucky woman has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking two women and faces up to almost 20 years in prison.
The U.S. Justice Department said 41-year-old Cleoretta Allen of Louisville pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to two counts of sex trafficking and one count of interstate transportation for prostitution.
Prosecutors said Allen used violence, threats, fear and intimidation to coerce the women to engage in commercial sex acts in 2017 in the Louisville area. The Justice Department said in a news release that Allen transported the women across state lines.
The release said the women contacted police, resulting in Allen’s arrest.
Allen faces 15 to 19 ½ years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 per count as well as restitution. A sentencing date hasn’t been set.
