MIAMI (AP) _ Dedicated golfers, unfazed by flames and billowing smoke from a clubhouse fire, snaked their way over hoses and around firefighting equipment to continue playing at Kings Bay Yacht and Country Club.

''They just ran through the fire trucks to make their tee times,'' marveled Tom Figge, 32, who was swimming at the club when the alarm was given Thursday morning.

He was among about 100 people forced to evacuate the clubhouse during the fire, which was contained in about an hour, said Metro-Dade Fire Chief John Soeder.

No one was injured. There was no immediate damage estimate.

''We thought we were going to get rain,'' said golfer Mark Lamothe, who was swinging away at the fifth hole when he saw the smoke. ''We got fire instead.''
