San Antonio Rampage rally falls short in home finale

The San Antonio Rampage rallied to tie after trailing by three goals in the third period but eventually lost their home finale 4-3 to the Texas Stars on Friday at the AT&T Center.

The Rampage are 30-38-7 on the year, sitting last in the Central Division. San Antonio tied a franchise record for home wins this season, going 23-12-3 at the AT&T Center.

Texas scored a goal in the first and added two in the second to build a 3-0 lead. San Antonio’s Bobby MacIntyre, Jordan Nolan and Ryan Olsen scored in the third period to level the match with about 8 minutes remaining, but the Stars answered with the game-winning goal just 7 seconds after the Rampage pulled into a tie.

Texas held a 35-27 advantage in shots, and San Antonio goalie Joel Hofer made 31 saves.

The Rampage close the season at 7 p.m. Saturday with a visit to the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park to take on the Stars.
