Witnesses in Simpson Murder Case
Witnesses called Tuesday in the O.J. Simpson trial:
SHARYN GILBERT: 911 operator and dispatcher; testified she answered a call from O.J. Simpson’s home at 3:58 a.m. on New Year’s Day 1989; never talked to anyone on the phone but heard woman screaming and ``someone being hit″ in background.
JOHN EDWARDS: Los Angeles Police Department detective; while a patrol officer in 1989, he responded to 911 call from Simpson estate; testified that he saw Nicole Brown Simpson running toward him saying, ``He’s going to kill me!″ referring to her then-husband; said Ms. Simpson told him fight occurred after Simpson had sex with another woman.
MIKE FARRELL: LAPD detective; investigated 1989 beating; testified that Simpson admitted in interview he caused bruises on Ms. Simpson’s face, apologized and said he would seek counseling; said Simpson called the altercation ``a mutual-type wrestling match.″
