Firefighter Ministry taking nominations for award

September 6, 2018

SCOTTSBLUFF — Firefighter Ministry is seeking nominations for an award recognizing first responders.

Carissa Smith, of Firefighter’s Ministry, is urging people to nominate a “top cop, phenomenal firefighter, extreme EMT/paramedic or dynamic dispatcher” for its First Responder Award.

Smith said she hopes to honor someone annually.

Smith says she thought of the award because “I see them all work and the things that they do day in and day out for others. I think it’s time we honor them.”

Nominations will be taken Sept. 10 through Oct. 10. Winners will be recognized in October.

People can grab a form to nominate an individual at Runza in Scottsbluff or Gering; Sure Shot Gun range; El Torito; KCMI and Bible Book Shop.
