Spokane’s Myles Kennedy announces Dec. 14 concert at the Fox

September 5, 2018

After a sold-out show at the Bing Crosby Theater in May, Spokane’s Myles Kennedy knew he couldn’t stay away for long.

Kennedy will headline the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox on Dec. 14 for another show in support of his debut solo album “Year of the Tiger.”

“Year of the Tiger” is a concept album of sorts about his childhood, specifically the death of his father when Kennedy was 4 years old.

“It was such a tough thing to have to go back and think about something that was such a tough situation for a family to go through,” he told The Spokesman-Review in December. “But we made it. And my mom is the hero in that sense. The record documents that, how much I appreciate and respect what she did for my brother and I, and I’m very happy with how it all turned out.”

As he did at the Bing, it’s likely that Kennedy, who moved to Spokane as a child, will trade off between solo songs and tunes from his time with Alter Bridge, Mayfield Fourm and Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators will release a second album, “Living the Dream,” on Sept. 21.

Tickets are $38-$60 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
