Mississippi man gets 10 years in prison for stealing car
NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for stealing a car last year.
The Natchez Democrat reports Andrew Morgan was sentenced Friday. Morgan has been convicted of grand larceny and stealing a vehicle several times and is considered a habitual offender, which prevents him from being eligible for parole or probation.
He was convicted in 2013 of grand larceny and sentenced to 10 years with the state Department of Corrections. In 2014, he was convicted of unlawfully taking a vehicle and sentenced to five years in prison. In 2016, he was convicted of grand larceny and sentenced to five years in prison. He was on parole when he was arrested for last year’s theft.
