Father and son owners killed at South Carolina bingo parlor
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Authorities are still looking for a man who they say killed the father and son owners of a coastal South Carolina bingo parlor during a robbery.
Horry County Police said the man covered his face as he entered Waccamaw Bingo just off U.S. Highway 501 near Myrtle Beach on Friday night.
Authorities say that witnesses told police he got into some kind of confrontation with the owners before shot were fired. No one else at the parlor was injured.
The coroner’s office identified the men killed as 73-year-old Stephen “Steve” Johnson Sr. and his 46-year-old son, Stephen “Sparky” Johnson Jr.
A candlelight vigil for the father and son is planned for Monday night outside their bingo hall.
