HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) _ Mark Cox scored three touchdowns and Brian McGee added two as undefeated Hofstra completed an unbeaten season by crushing St. John's 45-0 Friday night.

The Flying Dutchmen (10-0), ranked second to Dayton in NCAA Division III, posted their fifth shutout of the season in completing the third unbeaten campaign in school history. Hofstra was 9-0 in 1959 and 10-0 in 1983.

Cox had touchdown runs of 1 and 17 yards in the first quarter and also scored on an 8-yard pass from Rhory Moss, who completed 21 of 36 passes for 248 yards.

McGee ran for 79 yards on 13 carries, with scoring runs of 1 and 5 yards.

Bob Bohlert kicked field goals of 37 and 27 yards to set a school record of 14. Barry Cavagnaro had 13 in 1982.

St. John's (5-5) lost its fifth straight.
