2 former Riverton High School wrestlers acknowledge hazing

August 11, 2018

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Two former Riverton High School wrestlers have acknowledged their roles in hazing attacks on younger teammates earlier this year.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports the 17-year-old boys each pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of misdemeanor unlawful contact. A third 17-year-old is facing the same charges and is set to enter a plea in September.

Investigators say the attacks took place in Natrona County while the team was on a school bus traveling to a wrestling tournament in Douglas in January. According to court documents, the upperclassmen are accused of holding down younger teammates and using their fingers to anally penetrate them through their clothes.

The Fremont County School District expelled three wrestlers in early July for assaulting and sexually harassing teammates.
