Threat Closes Jakarta Embassy
WASHINGTON (AP) _ The U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, is being closed because of ``credible information″ about a threat to the compound, State Department spokesman Philip Reeker said Tuesday.
The Embassy was to be closed Wednesday, a holiday, and will remain clsoed to public business Thursday and Friday, Reeker said. An assessment then will be made on whether to return to full service.
The spokesman provided no other details.
