Massachusetts woman sentenced for embezzling $2.6 million
DEDHAM, Mass. (AP) — A former employee of a Massachusetts medical supply company has been sentenced to up to four years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing $2.6 million from the business
Laurieann Richard, of Wrentham, was also sentenced Wednesday in Norfolk Superior Court to 10 years of probation following the prison term, and ordered to pay restitution. That amount will be determined at a later date.
The Wrentham woman worked for more than 20 years at Dale Medical Products in Plainville. Prosecutors say she made unauthorized cash advances using corporate credit cards for gambling and shopping.
The married mother of three children pleaded guilty in July to larceny and making false entries in corporate books.
