ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Butch Neumann, a member of the 1956 U.S. Olympic cycling team, died Jan. 28 of an apparent heart attack while skiing in Utah. He was 69.
Neumann was a member of the U.S. team in the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne, Australia, and a member of the 1957 World Cycling Team.
Neumann later worked for 36 years for a St. Louis-area metallurgy company before retiring in 1998 and moving to Draper, Utah. In 1996, Neumann carried the Olympic torch as it made its way to the Atlanta Olympics.
