Sept. 27, 1918: Red Cross Must Find Clothing For 10,000 Belgians At Once

Have you contributed any clothing for Belgian Relief? The week for this drive closes tomorrow night. There are 10,000,000 inhabitants in the occupied regions, most of whom must look to the outside world for protection against the rigors of winter, it is seen that this country CANNOT send too much.

Seligman Bros. and Julius H. Gerdes both have made a generous donation to the Red Cross for this clothing fund.

Sept. 27, 1968: A provision aimed at establishing equality among state school systems drew comment from schoolmen and legislators Thursday at a meeting of the Legislative Council’s School Study Committee to discuss redrafting of proposed educational legislation.

Sept. 27, 1993: Santa Fe Mayor Sam Pick is busy deciding whether he’s going to run.

Some city councilors and other acquaintances of the mayor say he has told them he’s through.

Others say Pick’s promises to pull out are almost as unbelievable as Saddam Hussein’s.
