Man killed in fire at Pennsylvania mobile home park

May 2, 2019

READING, Pa. (AP) — A fire at a mobile home park in southeastern Pennsylvania has left a man dead.

The fire at the Brice Villa park in Exeter broke out around 12:15 a.m. Thursday. Neighbors called 911 after hearing popping sounds and glass breaking, and heavy flames were coming from the home when firefighters and emergency responders arrived a short time later.

Witnesses say a police officer tried to break the home’s windows after he was told the victim might be trapped inside, but the heat and flames prevented him from entering the home in the Berks County community.

The victim’s body was found shortly after the fire was brought under control.

The name of the man killed in the blaze has not been released. No other injuries were reported in the fire.
