ANC Legislator Dies After Car Crash
CAPE TOWN, South Africa (AP) _ Feroza Adam, a member of Parliament for the African National Congress, was buried Tuesday after dying of injuries suffered in a car crash.
The 33-year-old legislator was driving a car that smashed head-on into another vehicle on Saturday.
Adam was one of the youngest members of the new Parliament and served as deputy chief of the ANC’s public relations department before the April elections.
In the years before the ANC was legalized, Adam was active in the anti- apartheid United Democratic Front, the Transvaal Indian Congress, and student organizations.
The ANC praised her as ″a fierce opponent of apartheid and a tenacious fighter against gender discrimination.″
