MURRAY, Ky. (AP) _ Anthony Downs ran for 111 yards and three touchdowns as Murray State beat Tennessee Tech 41-3 Saturday in the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Racers (7-1, 6-0 OVC) forced eight Tech turnovers and limited the Golden Eagles (4-4, 3-3) to four first downs and 132 total yards. Murray is ranked fifth in Division I-AA.

Downs, a midseason transfer from Clemson, entered the game as the conference's second-leading rusher. He capped a 9-play, 80-yard scoring drive in the first quarter with a four-yard touchdown run to put Murray up 7-0.

He scored again on a six-yard run early in the second quarter after the Racers' Kenny Thomas intercepted an Andre Caballero pass at the Tech 17.

Ryan Kelly kicked a 37-yard field goal to get Tech on the board in the second quarter but Rob Hart hit a 26-yarder two minutes later to give Murray a 17-3 lead.

Hart added a 21-yarder early in the third quarter and Downs ran in his third touchdown from eight yards out with 4:43 left in the third quarter.

David McCann and Steve Cheirs had fourth-quarter touchdown runs for Murray State, which won its 15th straight conference game.
