Luau picnic scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 16, for Putnam County Seniors
HURRICANE — Putnam County residents aged 60 and older are invited to don their best Hawaiian shirt, grab their friends and families and head to the tropics of Valley Park in Hurricane for this year’s Putnam County Senior Picnic.
Scheduled for 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16, this year’s picnic theme is a luau and will feature Hawaiian amusements including luau portraits, Hawaiian dancing, food and fun activities for all ages.
The Putnam County Senior Picnic is a time-honored tradition reaching back decades, but this year marks the picnic’s ninth consecutive year being sponsored by the City of Hurricane, and organized by Putnam County Aging Program. Door prizes have been donated by local businesses and participating vendors.
