Davies Leads at Itoen Ladies Golf

CHONAN, Japan (AP) _ Three-time tournament champion Laura Davies had an eagle and four birdies for a 4-under-par 68 that gave her the lead Saturday after the second round of the Itoen Ladies.

The Englishwoman was at 137, 7-under and two shots ahead of South Korean Ko Woo-soon at the 6,365 yard, par-72 Great Island Club. Ko had a 69.

Davies’ score could have been better, but she but bogeyed twice on the back nine before making with birdies on the final two holes.

Michie Oba the first-round leader in the Japan LPGA event, soared to a 77 that left her in a seven-way tie for 15th in the $500,000 event.
