Akronites invited to comment on upcoming sewer projects

AKRON, Ohio – Akronites can weigh in on several sewer improvement projects that are part of the larger Akron Waterways Renewed! project.

Akron has applied for $21.5 million in loans from the Ohio EPA Water Pollution Control Loan Fund to pay for five projects. Current sewer rates will not change because of the loans.

The projects include:

Sanitary sewer reconstruction 2017Kelly Conveyance (combined sewer overflow rack 3)Chittenden Green Project (combined sewer overflow rack 3)Uhler Conveyance (combined sewer overflow rack 27 and 29)Mayfield Avenue sewer improvements

Anyone wishing to comment on these projects should mail their comments by September 8 to Heather Ullinger at the Akron Engineering Bureau, 166 South High Street, Room 701, Akron, 44308, or send an email.

Environmental review documents for the work can be accessed at the city’s website, or at the Ohio EPA website. Hard copies are also available to the public from the Akron Engineering Bureau, 166 South High Street, Room 701, Akron, 44308.
