3 people detained as Colorado double shooting investigated

November 25, 2018

WESTON, Colo. (AP) — Three people are being detained as authorities investigate a shooting of two people in a small town in southern Colorado.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation said Sunday that a man and a woman were shot in their home in Weston, about 22 miles (35 kilometers) west of Trinidad, just after noon on Saturday. The agency said the woman was being treated in a nearby hospital and her wounds weren’t life-threatening. The condition of the man, who was flown to a hospital in Colorado Springs, isn’t known.

The CBI, which has been asked to assist local authorities in the investigation, said three people were detained after a traffic stop in Las Animas County and may be connected to the shooting.
