Local fire departments receive state funding
IRONTON — Four volunteer fire departments in Lawrence County and two in Gallia County have been awarded funding from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry, according to a news release from State Sen. Bob Peterson, R-Washington Court House.
The Chesapeake Volunteer Fire Department is scheduled to receive $5,100, the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department will receive $6,250, the Rome Volunteer Fire Department is to receive $5,340 and the Proctorville Community Fire Department is to receive $2,064.67.
The Rio Grande Fire Department is to receive $9,447.50 and the District 2 Joint Volunteer Fire Department is to receive $4,500. Both those departments are in Gallia County.
