Vermont town of St. Johnsbury hires new fire chief
ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont town of St. Johnsbury has hired a new fire chief.
The hiring of incoming Fire Chief Jon Bouffard was announced at a recent meeting of the St. Johnsbury select board by town Manager Chad Whitehead.
The 40-year-old Bouffard is currently the operations director for Lyndon Rescue, Inc.
The Caledonian Record reports that Bouffard will replace former Chief Troy Ruggles who has taken a new position with the Burlington Fire Department.
Bouffard, a native of Wells River, is scheduled to start Aug. 20. He will be paid $73,500 a year plus benefits.
