Event to offer free medication, hazardous waste disposal
Expired medications and household hazardous waste may be dumped for free Saturday during an event on the East Side.
The collection event, called MedDropSA, is from 8 a.m. to 1 p,.m. at the Bulky Waste Collection Center, 2755 Rigsby.
Pills must be dumped out of plastic bottles and into a plastic zip-top bag, according to a press release for the event. Liquids and aerosols can stay in their containers, but labels must be removed.
Sharp objects such as needles, syringes, lancets and auto injectors will not be accepted.
There are no residency requirements to drop off medications, but household hazardous waste does require a recent CPS Energy bill showing that you are a solid waste rate payer.
The event is sponsored by the city of San Antonio, the San Antonio Police Department and the San Antonio Water System.
