Warriors and Wizards fest features Quidditch
JEFFERSON -- The Warriors and Wizards Festival that will be held in Jefferson Oct. 19, 20 and 21 this year will feature an expanded Quidditch Tournament, completed with grandstands for spectator viewing.
The City of Jefferson Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department is organizing the Quidditch Tournament during the Warriors and Wizards Festival, bringing 12 teams to Jefferson for the largest competition in the region.
Committed teams include clubs from University Wisconsin-Madison, Marquette, Kansas, Minnesota, Loyola, Illinois and Iowa. Gameplay will take place on Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. when the tournament champion will be crowned.
Tournament organizer, Park and Recreation Director Cyndi Keller said, “Players from each team will participate in our ‘TRY Quidditch’ program where spectators, particularly kids, can receive instruction on this fast-growing sport.”
The 2018 Quidditch Tournament in Jefferson is sanctioned by the International Quidditch Association.
