NEW ORLEANS (AP) _ Kristie Jordan and Paulette Monroe each scored 15 points Saturday to lead 18th-ranked Western Kentucky to a 94-70 Sun Belt Conference women’s basketball victory against New Orleans.
Western Kentucky’s sixth victory in the last seven games left the Hilltoppers at 11-4 and 5-0 in the Sun Belt. New Orleans is 11-4 and 3-3.
Western Kentucky used a 15-0 first-half run to rally from a 22-15 deficit and take the lead for good at 30-22. Western’s game-ending margin was its largest of the game.
Denise Hill scored 14 points, and Ida Bowen added 10 for Western Kentucky, and Monroe also had 12 rebounds. Renee Westmoreland had seven assists to move into ninth place on WKU’s career list with 414, and Jordan had a career-high seven steals.
Cassandra Lumpkins scored 16 points, T.J. Banks 15 and Kenya Robinson 13 for New Orleans.
