TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) _ Michael Dickerson and Miles Simon each scored 20 points Sunday night as No. 5 Arizona rebounded from an infrequent loss with a 92-68 rout of James Madison in the opening round of Bank One Fiesta Bowl Classic.

Mike Bibby added 15 points and eight assists for the Wildcats (8-3), who lost 84-79 decision at Florida State in their only game last week.

Simon also had seven assists and three rebounds for Arizona, which will play unbeaten Kansas State, a 70-63 winner over Davidson, in Monday night’s championship game.

Jamar Perry had a career-high 25 points and Eugene Atkinson added 19 points and 11 rebounds for James Madison (4-4).

Simon had 16 points and Dickerson 12 in the first half, when the Wildcats opened a 49-30 lead after breaking open a tight game in the final six minutes, and coach Lute Olson went to his bench liberally midway through the second half.

Dickerson had a three-point play early in the second half. With 11:39 left, he hit a 3-pointer for a 63-41 lead, then completed another three-point play 55 seconds later to put the Wildcats ahead 66-41.

Arizona had nine-point leads twice early in the first half, but the Dukes fought back, getting within 26-24 on a putback by Atkinson with 8:30 to play.

The third time the Wildcats opened a nine-point lead, at 35-26 after a layup by Simon, it was during a 20-4 run that lasted until halftime.

Simon had seven points in the rally, five in a 49-second span on a free throw, dunk and layup after driving the baseline with one of Bibby’s six first-half assists.

Bibby, who got the surge going with a 3-pointer, made another at the buzzer for the 19-point lead.
