Pumpkin Spice Latte, everybody’s favorite fall beverage, is back (supposedly)

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- If the school buses on the street, football on TV, or Halloween stuff at Target didn’t remind you that fall is near, this will: the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back.

Starbucks’ hugely popular seasonal beverage officially returns to stores on Tuesday, the earliest it has ever been sold. You may have to be patient, though. Stores in and around Cleveland are sold out of PSL, at least according to the Starbucks app.

If you absolutely can’t wait, both Dunkin’ and 7-Eleven are already selling pumpkin spice coffee drinks. There’s also a plethora of pumpkin spice-related products from coffee creamer to cereal at your local grocery store. You’ll even find Starbucks-branded products such as ready-to-drink PSL bottles, pumpkin spice K-cups and pumpkin spice cookie straws.

For the unitiated, Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte -- also available as Frappuccino or Chai Tea Latte -- is an espresso-based drink that’s served hot or cold, and made with pumpkin spice sauce containing real pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, clove, and nutmeg and then finished off with whipped cream and a dash of pumpkin pie topping.

In other words, it’s basically like sitting by a warm fire in a cozy sweater as you think about hayrides, corn mazes and pies, but in a cup.
