Rain doesn’t stop Beemer from having fun
BEEMER — Saturday morning’s drizzle didn’t stop runners from competing, breakfasters from dining or horseshoe players from pitching at this year’s Beemer Play Daze over the weekend.
Saturday morning events went on ahead as scheduled, with a breakfast and Fun Beemer run both staged at the Colonial Haven nursing home.
Activities then moved closer to downtown, with water fights for all ages, a kiddie tractor pull and inflatables for the kids, a pitch tournament at the Beemer Legion Hall for adults, and a human foosball game for the adventurous.
The town’s annual parade took place Saturday afternoon along with other activities. Music later Saturday evening was provided by the Skunk River Band at the Beemer Ballroom.
