Community church service at Sheldon Fun Days

A community church service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday during Sheldon Fun Days at the Sheldon Community Center, 140 S. Fourth St.

The Iroquois County group A Natural High will perform.

Following the service, there will be a potluck dinner with meat, drinks and paper products provided. The offering will be given to the Sheldon Food Pantry.

Four local churches — Darrow Church, Sheldon Christian Church, United Methodist Church and the Nazarene Church — are combining their funds and resources to provide this musical inspiration to the community.

The public is welcome to attend to enjoy inspiration, music, food and visit with old friends.Coal City United Methodist Church’s pork dinner

Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 E. McArdle Road in Coal City, invites the community to their “Hallelujah” Pork Dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. They will be serving pork roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, corn, green beans, bread, assorted desserts, coffee, iced tea and lemonade.

Tickets will be sold at the door. The cost is $10 for ages 13 and older; $6 for children ages 6-12; and free for children 5 and younger. Carryouts will be available. All proceeds from the dinner will go to the church’s building fund.Brown Bag movie night

Aroma Park United Methodist Church will be showing the movie “I Can Only Imagine” at 7 p.m. on Friday. Fellowship time starts at 6:30 p.m.

You can eat your own meal from home in a brown bag while socializing with others. There will be discussion time after the movie. Popcorn will be provided. There is no charge.
