SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say a man’s body has been recovered from the Truckee River in Sparks.

KRNV-TV reports Sparks police and firefighters pulled the body from the river Tuesday afternoon after a man walking his dog discovered the remains near Spice Island Drive.

Police say the man’s body had facial hair and was wearing a brown sweatshirt, black pants and orange shoes.

Police Lt. Greta Woyciehowsky says it’s not clear how the body ended up in the river, but foul play was not immediately suspected.

The Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the man.
