Margie A. Keeshan, 89, of St. Edward, passed away on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 16, at the United Methodist Church in St. Edward, with The Rev. Vern Olson officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in St. Edward. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the church.

Margie Ann Keeshan, daughter of John and Rose (Speigel) Fritzges, was born July 6, 1929, on the family farm near St. Edward. She attended Boone County School District #10, and then graduated from St. Edward High School in 1946. Following her schooling, Margie worked as a housekeeper.

On May 16, 1951, Margie was united in marriage to Roy Keeshan at the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. The couple lived their whole lives in St. Edward, where Margie worked as a nurse’s aide at Cloverlodge Care Center, a cook at St. Edward Public School, and again as a housekeeper at the nursing home. She also helped a couple of elderly ladies with housework and errands.

Margie was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Edward. She enjoyed taking care of her home, cooking, and loved to cook and entertain guests.

She is survived by her two children, Julie (Rich) Bernt of Stratton, and Rex (Lynette) Keeshan of Genoa; five grandchildren, Wesley (Bobby) Bernt, Kelly (Dominic) Zywiec, Abbie Keeshan, Matthew Keeshan, and Annie (Mark) Scaffidi; three great-grandchildren, Camryn and Hannah Bernt, and Roman Keeshan; and one great-grandchild on the way; along with many other relatives and friends.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Roy (Kathryn) Fritzges.
