Body of missing man recovered from Skagit River
SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. (AP) — The body of a missing Sedro-Woolley man has been recovered from the Skagit River.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office received a report about 11 p.m. Thursday that a man who had possibly been fishing in the Skagit River near Fruitdale and River roads in Sedro-Woolley was missing.
Chief Criminal Deputy Tobin Meyer says a family member had gone looking for the man and found his unoccupied vehicle in the area.
A helicopter crew with U.S. Customs and Border Protection was called to assist in the search and was able to locate his body not far from his vehicle.
Meyer says his body was recovered Friday morning.
