2 beaches reopen following safe water samples
KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) — The Rhode Island Department of Health is saying two closed beaches can be reopened for swimming.
The department has opened Camp Hoffman Beach in Kingston and Goddard State Park Beach in Warwick on Saturday based on results from water samples that show bacteria levels are within acceptable limits.
The beaches were closed for swimming following rainfall earlier in the week. Water sample results check for elevated bacteria levels that could cause negative health impacts to swimmers.
