Links to hold community health forum Saturday
The Aiken (SC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and S.C. Thrive will partner to hold a Links Day of Community Health Forum for seniors Saturday.
The forum, which is open to the public, will be from 10 a.m. to noon at Cumberland A.M.E. Church, 111 Kershaw St. S.E., and is for seniors in Aiken, Newberry, Greenwood, Barnwell and Edgefield counties.
A light lunch will be served.
The forum will be centered around community needs and access to care for adults ages 50 and older, and will focus on health topics including Medicare, mental health, Healthy Connections Prime and Medicaid.
“I am excited about this forum because it informs citizens of all the health services/resources that they can receive through S.C. Thrive Organization,” said Rosemary English, a member the The Links who is helping organize the forum.
S.C. Thrive is “a statewide nonprofit offering solutions to South Carolinians in need of resources but facing a multitude of barriers,” according to its website at scthrive.org. S.C. Thrive provides “a variety of training and technology to other direct service organizations so they can more effectively help people access these resources.”
