A sunny weekend before more heat, humidity
After overnight temperatures dipped into the low 50s, it’s back heat and humidity later this weekend.
“High pressure slowly slides off the Eastern Seaboard through Saturday,” the National Weather Service says. “This high then joins up with the Bermuda high and remains anchored to our south through the weekend.
“The result will be dry conditions with low humidity through Saturday, then increasing humidity on Sunday.”
Temperatures through Sunday will be within a few degrees on either side of normal, with highs mainly from around 80 to the mid- 80s, and lows generally fromaround 60 to the mid -60s.
Temperatures are expected near 90 Monday through Wednesday.
Overall, the weekend forecast is looking good with sunny skies on both Saturday and Sunday, It’s the first time in a month that we’ll have a rain-free weekend.
In 23 days in August, there has been 16 days that it’s rained, from a trace to several, according to the Northeast Regional Climate Center.
Coolest temperatures Friday morning were 53 degrees in Danbury and Meriden , 55 in Oxford, 57 at Bradley International Airport, 58 in New Haven, 59 in Greenwich, and 61 in Stratford.
Just before 6 a.m., it was 45 degrees on top of Mount Washington in New Hampshire with a wind chill of 34 degrees.
