SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Led by Cheryl Ford's 22 points and 11 rebounds, and 11th-ranked Louisiana Tech led all the way in a 79-49 victory Thursday night over San Jose State.

Ford, the daughter of Karl Malone, has averaged 20.7 points and 10.7 rebounds in the Lady Techsters' last three games. Cricket Williams led San Jose State (7-6, 2-2) with 20 points.

Louisiana Tech (10-3, 5-0) went in front 6-0, and was never in danger. It was 33-14 at the half, thanks to stifling Lady Techster defense that forced 18 turnovers and held San Jose State to just 21 percent from the floor.

The Spartans barely improved after the break, finishing with a dismal 27 percent for the game.

Associate head coach Kurt Budke ran the bench for the Lady Techsters with coach Leon Barmore home due to an illness in the family.
