Wellington beats Western Sydney 1-0 in A-League
WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — Western Sydney’s winless start in Australia’s A-League stretched to 10 matches when they lost 1-0 at Wellington.
Fiji striker Roy Krishna scored in the 14th minute to give Wellington its fourth win, along with a draw, from its past five matches, putting the Phoenix fourth but only a point behind third-placed Adelaide.
Western Sydney won the Asian Champions League this season but a hectic travel schedule has weighed on its A-League form and it has three draws and seven losses from 10 games to lie last in the 10-team competition.
The Wanderers have scored only six goals all season.
