PAOK beats Panionios 3-2 to stay top in Greece
ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Klaus Athanasiadis scored the winner from a penalty kick in the 72nd minute, allowing PAOK to scrape by Panionios 3-2 despite falling behind twice in the first 10 minutes in the Greek league on Saturday.
Defenders Miguel Vidor and Hedwiges Maduro drew PAOK level twice after Panionios took the lead through Apostolos Giannou in the 2nd and Dimitris Kolovos’ penalty in the 10th.
Panionios’ veteran midfielder Ariel Ibagaza was dismissed with a second yellow card in the 87th for a rough tackle.
The win left PAOK four points ahead of defending champion Olympiakos, which hosts Platanias on Sunday. Panionios is 14th.
Also, Panetolikos won 3-1 at Veria, and Kerkyra beat Asteras 1-0.
