Burlington library to serve as cooling station during heat

July 4, 2019

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — The city of Burlington’s public library will be open on the Fourth of July to serve as a cooling station in the high heat.

The Fletcher Free Library will be open from noon to 4 p.m. The forecast calls for a high of 91 degrees on Thursday.

Director Mary Danko says “we are happy to open the library” given high expected temperatures.

Last year, the library started opening on holidays such as Thanksgiving, July 4 and Christmas.
