Thomson Reuters: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
TORONTO (AP) _ Thomson Reuters Corp. (TRI) on Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $189 million.
On a per-share basis, the Toronto-based company said it had profit of 37 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 29 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 16 cents per share.
The news and financial information company posted revenue of $1.42 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.43 billion.
Thomson Reuters shares have risen 39% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 47% in the last 12 months.
