Engineering contract for Transfer Station improvements approved
NORFOLK - The Norfolk City Council approved an engineering services contract for the Transfer Station Site Improvements Project.
During Monday’s meeting, Wastewater Plant Superintendent Todd Boling told council members the contract is with SCS Engineers in the amount of $417,501.35.
“We had Burns and McDonnell come in and do an initial study for us and we want a fresh perspective of what they’re doing and an overall look of the site master plan. The first phase is part of that initial look of giving us a better concept for us to move forward with the design, and the second phase is the design portion.”
Boling said the site plan will help now and into the future for siting future buildings and structures as well as identifying potential efficiencies in site operations.
The council voted unanimously to approve the contract.
