LA Galaxy held 2-2 at home by San Jose
CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles missed a chance to take second place in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference by drawing 2-2 at home against San Jose on Friday.
The visitors took the lead when Chris Wondolowski angled in a goal from close range in the 18th minute but Gyasi Zardes equalized for the Galaxy in the 29th minute. It was Zardes’ sixth goal in as many games.
Wondolowski helped put San Jose back in front when he flicked a ball to Matias Perez Garcia — making his MLS debut — in the 31st minute for a 2-1 advantage. Wondolowski has three goals and three assists in five games since the World Cup.
Los Angeles’ Omar Gonzalez sent in a low angled header off a corner in the 49th minute to make it 2-2.
