ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (AP) _ Tim Winn scored 20 points to lead St. Bonaventure to a 71-63 win over Bowling Green Saturday night in a season opener for both teams.

St. Bonaventure ignited in the second half. After trailing 32-25 at halftime, the Bonnies went on a 17-6 run and improved their shooting to 54 percent, up from 36 percent in the first. James Singleton scored all of his 11 points in the second half. Rashaan Palmer also had 15 points for the Bonnies.

Tony Reid led Bowling Green with 27 points, including five 3-pointers. Reid combined with Dave Esterkamp (16) and Kirk Cowan (11) to score 54 of Bowling Green's 63 points.

St. Bonaventure's defense forced 21 turnovers. Peter Van Paassen grabbed eight boards to lead the Bonnies.

The Bonnies are now 31-1 in home season openers. Their only loss was in 1994 to Canisius.
