CARBONDALE, Ill.(AP) _ Rashad Tucker scored 21 points Thursday night to lead Southern Illinois to an 81-62 nonconference victory over Southeast Missouri State.

Tucker was 9-of-17 from the floor and led four Salukis in double figures, but he also ended up with a technical foul.

Tucker and Tiger forward Calvert White drew a double foul at 6:03 of the first half for too much talking, and the referees slapped Tucker with a technical with 1:03 remaining in the second half for a repeat offense.

The Salukis (3-4) were down 19-13 with six minutes remaining in the first half when they went on a 16-2 scoring spree to pull ahead 29-21 at intermission. They hit 20 of 34 from the floor in the second half.

The closest the Tigers (4-3) could come in the second half was 38-36, but Southern Illinois went on a 20-11 run to put the game out of reach.

The Salukis had a 45-28 advantage in rebounding.

The Tigers’ Bud Eley led all scorers with 24 points and was 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.
