GHS girls hockey team shuts out Fairfield

A two-goal second period and 13 saves from Morgan Dall led the Greenwich High School girls ice hockey team to a 3-0 road win over Fairfield Warde/Ludlowe at Wonderland of Ice on Wednesday.

Paige Finneran opened the scoring for the Cardinals, tallying 1:05 into the second period. Katie Piotrzkowski and Sydney Orszulak each assisted on the goal.

Also in the second period, Lexi Danielson’s goal at the 14:19 mark gave Greenwich a 2-0 lead. Emma Wingrove and Jennifer Kelly were each credited with assists on the goal.

Orszulak sealed the scoring with 5:18 remaining in the third period, scoring off a pass from Piotrzkowski.

Sidney Falterer made 26 saves for Fairfield. Greenwich plays St. Joseph-Trumbull Saturday at Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink at 4:15 p.m.
