Attend Yeager sendoff Aug. 23

August 19, 2018

MOHAVE VALLEY — A sendoff for Needles High School Class of 2018 honors graduate Jayden Yeager begins at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 404, Mohave Valley.

Enlisted with the U.S. Navy, Yeager will be shipping out to the Navy’s Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., in the near future. There, he’ll undergo classroom instruction and learn fundamentals of small arms marksmanship, seamanship, water survival, line handling and fire fighting. The ‘boot camp’ typically continues for seven weeks before final evaluation.

Besides his status as an honors graduate, Yeager was a three-sport athlete during his Needles High School career, leading Mustang football as quarterback.

Yeager’s sendoff is the first for VFW Post 404, a service they now plan to offer for residents of Needles and the lower Mohave Valley. They’ve performed welcome home events for those returning from active military duty for some time. To arrange for either, leave contact information and deployment or return date at the post, 10287 Barrackman Rd. in Mohave Valley; call 928-788-3202.
